The SPADE (Serving People through Appropriate Development Evangel) ministry began in 1987. Our mission statement is to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ with special emphasis on advancement of appropriate development equipping people of all nations for service. Our purpose as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) faith-based ministry is religious, educational, and charitable.
We reach out to our community and extended areas with invitations to attend Bible studies, prayer times, and other special faith-based programs. We also reach out to the international community on a friendship and cross-cultural basis.
No one is refused accommodations because of an inability to donate.
Our sources of income are donations from those using the facilities, as well as contributions from interested persons, groups, or churches; private grants are also used to improve the facilities. The on-site directors are self-supporting and their income is processed through SPADE. We depend extensively on volunteer help for the maintenance of the property, cleaning, and improvements. We continually look to the Lord to graciously provide all we need.
What We Believe
We believe the Bible to be divinely inspired, and the authoritative Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of the universe, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, redemptive death, bodily resurrection, present exaltation at God’s right hand, and the “blessed hope” of His personal return.
We believe that all men have sinned and therefore are guilty before God and are under His condemnation.
We believe that through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, God in love provided atonement for sin, so that, through repentance and saving faith in Christ, man is delivered from the judgment of God and is granted life eternal.
We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit, who works through the Scriptures to bring people to salvation through Christ. He dwells in believers, equipping and empowering them for lives of holiness and fruitful service.
We believe that the church is comprised of all true believers and that the mission of the church, with Christ as its head, is to communicate the Gospel of Christ to all the world.
We believe in the resurrection of the body, the everlasting judgment of unbelievers, and the everlasting blessedness of believers in the presence of Christ.
